COST KEEP GOING UP….

I know… It’s the same old story, costs keep going up. Bla,bla bla…Well I hope I can present it to you in words that are a bit more readable. I can’t help it. These issues have been on my mind most of the day. Well, maybe  only three or four hours ago.

I was walking out of the grocery store, in one hand I was clutching two small bag, and in the other the  receipt. Rechecking the figures for error. No error, forty five  dollars for five items of grocery. wow..

Well, you know inflation bla bla bla it’s driving the price of everything higher. Inflation, I say we be a little more specific. Inflation and rising cost  is only the byproduct of someone or ones manipulating the money market for personal gain.

If indead you want to know who, follow the money trail. This last  money crash is a perfect example . Money becomes scarce only to reemerge in another major players hands. The rich get richer and the poor,  who give a rats, right?

Answer me this: When did it become necessary for a single person to occupy a four to five bedroom condo, while a family of five live in a single room studio? I am not saying this person should not have this condo. he/she has the right to own what they pay for. Does that family have that same opportunity. I would say not.

Look at this crude example.  Picture yourself as seller of property. The family man comes to you with a 90 thousand dollar offer. not bad this could be a good day after all. While you are discussing matters, the single man comes in wanting the same property, but  he is willing to pay you 150 thousand dollars . who do you make the deal with?

  1. Hi Nick:)Greetings and good wishes:)This topic has been on my mind also. I agree with you that the rich is becoming richer and the poor is becoming poorer. When I married a kilo of beef was just Rs.8 and now it is more than Rs.150. There are ever so many things I can point out where the prices have gone skyrocketing. When I started my job the price of petrol was Rs.1 per litre and now it is Rs.40 per litre.Business men are minting money in the name price increase. The other day I ordered a banana fry and I was shocked to see that the size of the fry has shrunk to as long as my index finger. Besides, that ruthless hotel owner charged me Rs.5.His attitude was-EITHER YOU EAT IT OR GET LOST.THERE ARE OTHERS WHO WILL HAPPILY FOR IT WITHOUT A WORD.The government is not concerned about checking the prices of various commodities that are being used by the common man for his daily consumption. There are agitations going on all over the country regarding high prices of commodities of daily consumtion. The government is yet to move. It is a pity that the government which is there for the people, of the people, by the people is not at all bothered about the sufferings of the common man.The reason is curruption, black marketing, hoarding and political interests. It was an excellent example that you broughtout about the real estate market. I will go one step further. What about people who don't have a roof over their heads, what about people who die of cold, what about people who die of starvation and hunger. Is the government not for them? How is that these poor people are allowed to die like cattle?Politicians spend lot of money to win elections. They will be in power for 5 long years and in these 5 years they have to accumulate wealth which will last for generations and generations and generations.Recently, a high court judge has been involved in land scandal.A person who is supposed to uphold justice is accumulating landed property by misusing his post.Almost all government officers whether police, excise, transport, public works, weights and measures etc.etc. are corrupted and will not do anything without taking bribes. I had to pay bribes several times to these people for getting petty things done without getting tangled in red tape.I just want to cite one example as a sample. That time I was working in Madhya Pradesh and I was driving from Satna to Jabalpur. A police team stopped me and said that my car headlight doesn't have a black spot. Then I was told that the fine will be Rs.100 if I want a receipt and only Rs.50 if I didn't want the receipt. I have numerous cases like this. These are days of dog eating dog. Every one for himself and God for all. Survival of the fittest. Either you live or die.Who bothers? Many thanks for giving me a platform to air my feelings. I could have written a lot about this:):):)Have a nice day Nick:)Joseph
