Racing down the road at 100 mph and suddenly throwing it into reverse. That is about the best illustration I can give to what I feel inside and out. Whiplash is the first thing felt as the head is suddenly thrown back against the head rest. Gasping for air you realize you have just been sucker punched by your steering wheel. Hold on you aren’t out of the weeds yet. The steering wheel is jumping around in your hand as you desperately counter steer to keep yourself from flipping head over heels to your death. Finally rolling to a stop you reach for the door handle only to realize it broke loose and was some where back there. Falling out on the pavement you look up and behind you. Scattered everywhere is everything you know as you. Now what?
I aquate this story to how I feeling with sudden retirement. I do realize I have to pick up all the pieces of what I was and build what I must become. You know it can’t be the same.
